The story starts with an ocean scene in Oslo Norway in 1009 A.D. Sven talks about the costal city residents and the stories that are spoken of him in the taverns. Worried about the day the Vikings finally come to find him. When they do find him some of the soldiers mock him due to his age. But when the Vikings decided to sneak up on his family and kidnap his wife, Sven the Immortal returns to show them why there are poems about him. This was the first time I have read the Northlanders since it is very difficult to get a hold of in my neck of the woods. But if you have the option to pick up this series I would recommend it. The artwork is fantastic and is well written. This is a buy for this week.
