Ghostbusters #1 "Displaced Aggression"

Just in case I missed this last week here is the review. A man in a horse drawn carriage is being chased by something. Until Venkman shows up to vaporize the ghosts that are haunting this man. Peter we find out has been banished to one of the four corners of time as well as the other Ghostbusters by Gozer's father Koza'Rai. Now he dwells in this old western town which is plagued by ghosts. Things move along and Peter gets himself into a predicament until a female with a Ghostbuster uniform and proton pack helps out. This was something I was hoping would be better being a Ghostbusters fan myself. However this is a big disappointment. Poorly written the pun that are attempted are lame for lack of a better word. The idea of the story could be better with some more thought put into the actual dialog. I just hope if they do make another Ghostbusters movie they don't see any inspiration in this title. I would pass on this comic.

Gotham City Sirens #2

In case I missed this issue last week. Three years ago Catwoman is standing behind Talia in a dark candle lit room. Guards with arrows hide in the rafters above them with their arrows pointed directly at Catwoman. Talia offers her something that would suppress the memories of Batman's true identity should enemies of his come to get the truth out of them. As she drifts into unconsciousness he dream abruptly stops due to a bad recollection. When she wakes out of her hallucination an armed Harley Quinn stands before her as Poison Ivy sits on the couch. They have her tied up as they try to find out who is Batman. As the story continues it is a well written plot line for these women. I am enjoying this title from DC and I hope that they story does not dwindle away into something less than what it currently is. I would recommend this issue.

Wasteland Issue #26

In case I missed this last week here is the review. We see Yan on the first page standing in the middle of this rubble. Six months ago is the setting Yan stops to speak with the Primate. They are conversing about what Yan saw the Primate do. Some of the other slaves show up and one of them has a message for Yan from his father. When Yan becomes an Artisans servant he finds out things and pieces together a puzzle that seems to be unfolding in this issue. Never having a chance to read this hard to find comic in my area I would say this was a good read and would recommend it.

John Constantine / Hellblazer #259 - The Cottage

Violet Cottage is the first panel setting of this story. John prepares for the witching hour removing the necessary tools that are in his bag. As he tries to invoke someone named Phoebe we flash back to a night club in Chelsea 2007. The flashback is rather explicit with profanity which once again is for mature readers only. The gritty artwork adds a nice touch to the comic although the story line is not captivating enough to make me look forward to the next issue. I would not recommend this issue.

The Incredible Hulk #602

This story opens up with Skaar and Bruce sitting in a diner having a milk shake. Then the Juggernaut shows up due to Bruce blowing up his house. The fight then breaks out and for a few panels the fight continues with minimal dialog. Even with the great artwork and the She Hulk story I just don't see this as something to go out and buy. I would not recommend on picking up this issue.

Power Girl #5

There is an explosion in the park as Power Girl heads up to the roof to change into her outfit someone is watching her. She heads over to the top of the ship that crashed to make sure everything is fine when the cannon goes off. Some women stop outside of the ship and are met by a police officer who is trying to arrest them. The ship explodes and Power Girl is knocked out for a short moment. Then a we see a cat getting a bath which I found rather funny the expressions the artist gives the cat. This issue was something worth while not ever reading a Power Girl comic in quite some time this was enjoyable and I would recommend this issue.

Tales from Wonderland - Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum

Wonderland is where this story opens up. We see a man standing in a doorway with a bloody sledge hammer. I do believe one of the Tweedle brothers is lying on the ground pleading for his life as the man prepares to hit him with the sledge hammer. We then flash to the real world at a baseball game a father named Tony is watching his son play. His son's team wins and while the people in the neighborhood are complementing him on his sons accomplishments he gets enraged and decides to take it out on his teenage son when they get home. After the beating they decide to go an move a mirror for a neighbor, when things go wrong Tony's son decided to push his abusive father through the looking glass. Tony starts to turn into Tweedle Dum he treks off to look for some food. This is not for children to read even though it is a nice take to see what could happen in an alternate world to some one who abuses a child regardless of his age. If you see this one check it out to see if you like it.

The Amazing Spider-Man #606

New York Upper East side, we see Madame Web sitting in a chair strapped down as a prisoner. We then see Peter and his roommate arguing over how messy he is. Some a was a little taken back to see the comments that were said to his Puerto Rican female roommate. I would never to have expected some of the sarcastic remarks which were jotted down into the frame. Black Cat shows up as Spidey is talking to a culprit trying to dangle him from a gargoyle until the police come get him. With some sexual references that occur this is something I would not recommend for a young child to read, this issue is mediocre and not worth the money.

Darkness Pitt #2

Jackie is watching television in his home with Pitt and Tim. Jackie heads into the next room where Pitt is and they converse over some things. While they are in the house conversing, the house is being watched by people outside who have information on Jackie and Tim. Some men with guns lurk in the bushes watching Pitt and Jackie on his terrace as more drop down to the roof from helicopters. A few humorous moments occur in the next few panels as Pitt describes why the virus likes out planet. Keown's art work is still as fantastic as I remember it. This is still a treat to read and if you like the Pitt or even if you don't I would recommend this to read. There is humor and action mixed with fantastic artwork.

Invincible #66

We pick up this story in outer space. We are being told about Planet Viltrum and the history of its empire. It is explained to us that the Scourge Virus was made to over power and control them. The conquering of Earth was part of the plan for the surviving Viltrum's since human DNA is almost compatible with Viltrum's for the process of turning the planet into a breeding camp. The rouge Viltrum and Allen head to the base for the Coalition of Planets to meet with Thaedus to to speak about things that may occur. The story goes on with some more details and nice artwork. This was something I would recommend to read even though Invincible is not in this story.

No Hero #7

I have the first few issues of this comic and it has been a very good read although this is a hard title to find in your local comic shop as are all the Avatar comics. Once again I try to show all the different covers and in doing so the colors are off I do apologize for that. This is not for the children to read this is a very violent and graphic comic book. Carver comes into the house looking for his partner when he is greeted by this mysterious monster of a man with his spine protruding through his stomach. The next few panels are rather gruesome and bloody. Some extremely detailed and violent scenes are depicted. There is not much I can say about this issue there is an abundance of profanity and violence. Despite that it is a well done comic if you can handle the images. We find out later the name of the monstrous man is Josh Carver who is property of the FBI and was raised by the serial killer who took the life of his family. Carrick and Josh are face to face conversing about how FX takes control over ones body. If you have a weak stomach I would not recommend reading this but if you can handle gore and can find this at your local comic shop breeze through it to see if you like the issue.

Giant Sized Wolverine Old Man Logan #1

The Hulk Gang's Watering Hole is how we open up this story. Rufus and Woody are conversing about the meal they were not allowed to eat. To Woody's surprise he turns around to say something else to Rufus, however Rufus is not seen by Woody right away. We are then watching what is currently occurring is Sonny Starks bar with the other Hulk's. When the lights go out Logan catches them by surprise. There is a panel on the page that is horrifyingly gruesome and fantastic to look at. We see Logan infiltrate the Banner hideout and to see an old Bruce Banner fight Logan is rather humorous and nostalgic. The next few panels explode with violence and blood it is something that a young child should not be reading. This was a good read especially since I was not able to read the Origins issues when they first come out. I would recommend picking this on up.

Superman #2 Blackest Night

Smallville, the morning sun peaks over the mountain top. A man is in a barber shop getting a haircut. The next page is a wonderfully done splash page of Superman fighting the Black Lantern Kal-L. Then we see the Psycho Pirate introduced. He starts to turn the town amok. Superman & Superboy have a quick bought before we are shown the events happening on new Krypton. All in all this was a very good read I would recommend this issue.

The Walking Dead #65

Everyone is in the house Glen is having his leg worked on while Dale is on conscious. Andrea Sits with Dale now he is awake and they converse over some things. Rick speaks with Gabriel to find out about town within walking distance. As Rick and the gang head toward the houses they her a noise. We see the cannibals conversing with the scout they sent out to watch Rick and the Church. Rick tries to come to an agreement with the cannibals, but nothing prevails. This is a heavily conversation issue going on here. It was an enjoyable issue though. I would recommend it if you are a true Walking Dead fan.

Nomad #1

I know I am late on this title but I just found this laying around and I decided to review it. Rikki Barnes is speaking about how things have changed for her in the first few pages of this comic. As the police scanner goes off and she hears that Captain America is taking down some bad guys she springs into her suit and attempts to help as well introduce herself to the new Cap. As she tries to find her place in this alternate world she does some investigative work to be surprised by a classified file waiting for her in her apartment. The great artwork and intriguing story line makes this something I look forward to. I would recommend picking up this issue to check out.

Batman & Robin #4

Lightning Bug is standing in the middle of the street aiming his storm gun at a man on the floor. As he flees from Batman he heads into a building where he assumes he is pinned down. Unknowingly it is not Batman that stands before him but the Red Hood. As Red Hood and Scarlet his assistant that suffered the horrific mask from Professor Pyg ruin a criminal business meeting Batman & Robin show up when things get interesting. This is playing out to be a nice story line hopefully it continues this way and the ball does not get dropped. I would recommend this comic.

Punisher Noir #2

1935 a bar with slaughtered people scattered around the floor is the opening for this issue. Soap shows up in the bar investigating what is going on. As the other detectives ridicule him, he brushes it off and lets them know how the bullets are germane to his investigation. Informing them that this is not a mob hit, but an execution from some vigilante. I know other people had said this title is mediocore but I happen to like where this story is going. I think it is a nice change from everything incorporating Norman Osborn into the books. I would still recommend this comic and keep an eye out for the variant edition with the Punisher holding the gun. Sorry for the color change for the comics I show with the different covers. The images are loading wrong.

Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1

Manhattan, Times Square is the setting for this first page. A bank is getting robbed as something rips through the sky and catches the robber attention. Moon Knight appears and things become violent very quickly we get some fantastic artwork as well as a violent image with a motorcycle. This version of Moon Knight does not seem to be a murderous vigilante but one of redemption. I was never really a fan of the Moon Knight character, but this was a nice revamp of this character. Especially with the original reprint of the debut of Moon Knight in it, this is something I would recommend.

Batman: (Reborn) Streets of Gotham #4

The Creeper sits with Wayne as he is informing him he has to make another hefty donation. A homeless kid stand in front of an abandoned building, before being knocked out and thrown into a van. We see the Great White Shark handling an investment deal as he knows best. Victor Zsasz meets with a man called the Broker to purchase a little real estate. Batman shows up to the Brokers office to find some criminals at large. This was another good read I would recommend picking this up to pass the time.

Captain America Reborn #3

We open up to see Cap thinking to himself frozen in a block of ice. Namor shows up at Cap's location furious and rips the block of ice from the frozen bed sheet and tosses Cap into the ocean. Bucky is held prisoner by Ghost & Scourge on transport to Osborn's base of operations. An escape happens and Bucky is free to get back to business, as we see SIn & Crossbones show up in the picture. I was not fortunate enough to catch the first two issues of this story line but I must say this was an enjoyable read.

Ultimate Armor Wars #1

First I just wanted to let you know there are three different covers for this comic. So if you collectors are wondering what they look like that is why I took the picture of all three of them. A ruined Manhattan splash page is what we see to start this story off. There are dead people everywhere and a massive flood waters still float around St. Patrick's Cathedral. Tony Stark stands in the middle of Manhattan looking at the destruction. He walks into the private bunker he had under the Stark building and to his surprise is greeted by Justine Hammer. This comic I must say did not captivate me like Ultimate Spider-Man did. It is a mediocre story to say the least I was not captivated by the plot line to want to be on the look out for the next issue. I would pass on this title but if you want to check it out for yourselves and see if you like it that is your choice.

Blackest Night #3

New York City, Columbia University is the setting for the first page of our story. Gen & Jason are sitting on a bed conversing. We then get a splash page of a fight that is going on in Gotham City. The Flash and Green Lantern are fighting off Firestorm and Hawkman just to name a few of the Black Lanterns in the scene. Mera activates Aquaman's code to summon Jason to JLA headquarters as he watches the monitors he sees something come out of the tomb of unknowns. Two of the Indigo Lanterns show up and take out the Black Lanterns that had Hal & Flash pinned down. As the old firestorm comes back things get interesting and the Black Lanterns are almost at 100%. This was a great read and I would recommend picking this up if you like the Blackest Night series.

Dark Wolverine #78

We open up seeing someone being torn apart by Daken. Norman Osborn is alerted by his security that the tape showing these people getting slaughtered was leaked on the internet and over 1 million people have already viewed this classified tape. Daken meets with Osborn and is informed by Osborn that because of that tape he has to change his image. A gun fight in a court room occurs to help Moses Mangum escape. Which is all part of Osborn's plan to help Daken rebuild his public image. This issue has a lot of talking going on it is not the most entertaining thing to read but if you like Dark Wolverine and are following the series then you know what to do. As for the rest of us I would pass if you are looking for something with more action.

Elephantmen #21

The narrator speaks to us in the opening scene about cats. The setting is in a bedroom as these two feline friends are trying to wake up their owner. Ebony is sleeping on the bed when awaken. He heads to the kitchen to feed his cats when Mappo agents locate him and activate the chip in his neck. Ebony stands in a canal faced by the Reptiles who are ready to fight. The next few pages explode with Ebony and the Reptiles fighting there is some wonderful artwork shown in these scenes. This was a fantastic issue to read especially since I have never read an Elephantmen comic before. I would recommend picking this one up or breeze through it at your local shop.

Avengers #1: Dark Reign - The List

Avengers tower is where this story starts off. Ares is listening to Norman Osborn about the to do list he has created. Despite Ares telling Osborn it sound more like a hit list, Norman tries to ensure him it is a to do list. The next few pages we have the Avengers conversing in a X-Men mutant island hideout. Barton is ranting on about killing Osborn. Gargan does show up at the Avengers H.Q and lays down the law in the next few panels. This issue was an enjoyable one I would recommend picking this one up. But we will see how this story arc plays out and if the next few issues are just as good.

Punisher #74

Nigel & the Punisher are trekking through the swamp in the Louisiana Bayou. As they continue to head down swamp from the rednecks as the Punisher calls them who are chasing them down for dinner they come across a run down shack. They burn down the shack which causes the other rednecks to locate where they are. After the Punisher takes the offensive all hell breaks loose. This comic had everything I hoped it would and it did not let me down one bit. I would recommend picking this up if you are a Punisher fan or if you like the Max Series.

Hellboy #6 The Wild Hunt

We open this story up to a gloomy looking castle and some skeletons that were hung by the neck. Hellboy is sitting at the table with a woman discussing what is happening in the castle. Trying to find out a little more regarding the current situation with Morgan Le Fay. They converse about King Arthur and the Pendragon name. Explaining how the blood line still lives on and who are his descendants. I have not read a Hellboy comic in quite some time but if you were thinking of glancing at one this would be a good issue, the story line in interesting along with the cool artwork makes for a nice read.

The Marvels Project #2

Part two picks up in 1940's NYC. People fill the wintery air stopping at news stands and driving to their destinations. The next page takes us to Frankfurt, Germany in 1940. We see two German scientists conversing about a subject that they have in custody which is behind a glass tube. Nick Fury shows up in this story trying to capture the German Scientist. An introduction of the Angel occurs and we see the Human torch help some man who is being bullied by the mob. All in all this is still coming together very nicely this issue is just as good as the last one I reviewed and I will be following this short series to the end. I recommend picking this issue up.

Kick-Ass #7

This comic opens up to show poor Dave being pistol whipped in the back of the head by the Red Mist. Big Daddy is shot in the stomach and John Genovese son and his crew have set up Kick-Ass, Hit Girl & her father. The scene is rather shocking and I will not spoil it which takes us back to Kick-Ass & Big Daddy being dragged down to the basement of the Genovese place. There is some pretty gruesome torture that is shown. Something that will make you cringe if you think about what is actually going on. A very humorous thing happens when Big Daddy's case is opened comic fans will enjoy the joke. Another surprise is shown in the next few panels, and then things get really interesting. It was a great relief to read something that did not put my to sleep. I have been a fan of Kick-Ass since the first issue and I am not looking forward to the movie coming out. But if you are a fan like me then I would recommend you picking up this issue up to enjoy. If you are not but see this on your shelf at your local comic book store give it a breeze I think you might be shocked but enjoy it enough to want and grab the back issues as well.

Dark Avengers / Uncanny X-Men: EXODUS

Emma and Scott are conversing about something when Hank McCoy pops up in their room informing them he is taking the X-Club somewhere. I don't know about you but when did Beast become Scott's pet to sleep at the edge of their bed to protect them at night? Just kidding X-Men fans. Despite nice art work this comic is busy a few pages in we have a fight that lasts the whole 42 pages of the book. I have read other X-Men comics recently but have not felt lost as I did in this one. If you are an X-Men fan who is following this series then this is something you most likely will pick up, however if you are not a fan and were looking for something to read then this is not a comic issue for you. Pass!

Young Avengers #4

I have never read a Young Avengers comic but this one starts off with the female Hawkeye breaking into a party hosted by Diana Patton and her son Daniel. The next scenes are of the Young Avengers discussing some things over with another group of individuals. A lot of dialog is going on not action at all it rather drags on a bit. To my surprise we see a female Loki in Norman Osborn's office. Now it has been a while since I followed what is going on with Thor's mythology but when did we get a female Loki? But I must say wow this was boring,so bad in fact that I struggled through the last few pages of this issue. Pass on this.

Batman Confidential #33

A dismal tunnel in Moscow is where we find Batman in this issue. He is with another gentleman by the name of Petr. Both of them seem to be in the tunnels hiding from someone called the Bear. The next few pages are bland we then come across a scene with a man whipping a creature name Fydor. This comic is not compelling enough for me to want the next issue it was rather dull and I would not recommend picking up this issue to read.

Vampirella - The Second Coming #1

We see Vampirella fighting for her life in the opening scene. It then changes to a woman named Kelly viewing the video of her death on her computer. Her husband Frank walks in to see her watching this video he thinks it is some kind of viral marketing campaign for a new movie coming out. Kelly starts to see symbols of Vampirella everywhere which starts to drive her mad. She then heads to the Law Library where she meets Mordecai Pendragon. Mordecai informs her that she has been marked by Vampirella and shows her what happened 10 years ago. This is a re-vamp (no pun intended) of this character, however the art work is mediocre to say the least and the story line is rather drab. I personally would not recommend this comic as something to pick to read. It was mind numbing to read and when I finally reached the last page it was a sign of relief. Pass on this issue.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep #3

This comic opens up with a woman speaking to someone. A man by the name of Mr. Deckard (yes that is right like the Bladerunner). A woman named Rachael is asking questions about some androids that have escaped this facility. The conversation then changes to Deckard taking an owl under his keep, why is the question here. This is a compelling sci-fi mystery, it reminds me of some Metropolis, mixed with a pinch of Bladerunner, and a dash of The 6th Day. I am intrigued to see what happens in the next issue if I can get my hands on a copy. If you happen to see this comic but you don't think you want to purchase it at least give it a breeze it is worth checking out.

Batman -Blackest Night #2

I know since Monday was a holiday we are waiting for the Marvel & DC books to come in for review so some reviews will continue to come in maybe until the weekend since we have some catch up reading to do. We open up this story in Gotham City where the Black Lanterns are attacking innocent people in what seems to be a convenience store. Batman, Robin, & Deadman did some recon work pertaining to the Black Rings the Green Lantern informed them about. They figure they need some serious firepower and then plan to acquire some from the Military base not to far from Gotham Police Headquarters. Jim Gordon & Barbara are held up against their will defending themselves from the Black Lanterns in the next scene. Between heart eating, burning Lanterns and a very good story line this was an issue I would recommend to read. Even if you are not following this series this is something for everyone to enjoy.

Fall Out Toy Works #1

So Fall out boy has inspired a comic. The opening pages of this comic start with a woman cooking eggs for a man named Baron when all of a sudden she seems to be tele-ported by a beam of light. Baron gets up to stare into his mirror which we then find out is a two way mirror and scientists are making notes about him. The story then changes and we see a man conversing with another man when they walk into what seems to be a play room with children. One of the men is then later in the street by two L.A. lawyers. Baron shows up and hands him a card with a location for them to sit down and talk about his current situation. Baron wants him to create a woman that loves even though the toy maker has second thoughts about the project. This was a very interesting comic, granted I have never heard any of Fall out Boy's music the inspiration for this comic made this an enjoyable read. If you have a chance to check this out I would recommend it.

Chew #4

Applebee is on the phone as he gets a tip from a friend that Chu has a hit out on him for his life. We see Applebee relish in the moment before trying to find out where Chu is. Chu is in the corners office with Mason trying to see if they can examine the body of the dead Senator. The corner does not like the way they conduct investigations so she decided to cremate the Senators body. The next scene is rather humorous. Mason has an idea about what is going on and they head off to a certain space station. I know I have said before that I did not like this comic. But I have re-read the first issues and it is not that bad. If you are following Chew then pick up the issue. If you are not and would like to I seriously recommend reading from the beginning to catch up on the characters and story line.

Ms. Marvel #41 (Dark Reign)

This issue opens up with Deadpool being surrounded by H.A.M.M.E.R agents pointing firearms at him. He then teleports him self out of the situation bringing back a jar with a baby in it. Spider-man shows up and he is following some glowing woman to the Queens shipyard where we find Wolverine and some of those jars Deadpool stole. Spidey & Wolverine find out who this mysterious being is and why the jar babies are so important. The Avengers show up and things become interesting. This was a good issue if you like Ms. Marvel and the story so far then I would recommend picking this up to read.

Spiderwoman

This is a little treat for you. If you have followed my blog you know by now I try to throw something up for you as a special bonus. I tired with the Akira comic but no one was interested in the issue I uploaded for download. So once again I am going to do something special. Here is the Spiderwoman comic.

North 40 #3

This was the strangest comic I have read in quite some time. It is like the walking dead meets the Wizard of Oz, with a little pinch of Wormwood thrown in. A lot is happening in this town. Monsters, Witches, Ghosts, Zombies. This is something that is so different that I may have to read the next issue just to see where things are going. I would consider this a hit or miss. If you are in your local comic shop and see this on the shelf give a breeze to see if you like it.

Dead Run #4

This was the first time I even heard of this comic. It is a cross between Land of the Dead and Mad Max. The two heroes in this issue are Nick & his female mechanic. She is trying to get to San Francisco while Nick is trying to rescue his sister. They come to find out they have a leaking nuke on board and their plans change. This was interesting to read not something I would worry about going out to buy but since I grabbed a hold of this issue I decided to review it.

The Invincible Iron Man #17 (Dark Reign)

We pick up where we left off in the last issue. Masque is okay after the blast and is contacting Norman Osborn. The Masque has Pott's suit. Tony is on the run through Russia. While flying he gets struck down with an RPG. We see Osborn upset with Masque as Ms. Hand interrupts him. It seems that we have to wait until the next issue to see what happens to Tony, Capt, Black Widow, & Hill. This issue was not as good as the last one but if you are following the story pick this up. If not you could pass it by.

Incognito #6

The story opens up with a zeppelin in the air. The the next few panels burst with violence. The next scene we see Zack strapped to a medical table and Doc Lester is going over the past how he was made. We find out the beginning massacre was due to his identical twin brother and more violence emerges in the next few pages. This was the first time I read this comic, however it was interesting. I think I would go back to the beginning so I actually know what is going on. If you have been following this title then obviously pick it up if not I would pick this up and the past issues as well so you can follow what is going on easier.

Batman #690 (Reborn)

This story takes place with Clayface and Blanco trying to kill Batman by any means necessary. Two Face is meeting with a few teleporters to try and find out where the bat-a-rang he has in his possession was made. This issue was not the greatest issue especially with the ending of the book. I would recommend passing on this title.

Ultimate Spider-Man #2

We continue where we left off. Johnny Storm is sleeping on Aunt May's couch while Aunt May, Gwen & Peter are discussing whey he is there. We then flip the page to see Mysterio talking about what he did earlier by throwing the Kingpin out of a window. We then move on to see Flash Thompson and some goons picking on Kitty Pryde in the school. MJ is filming what is going on until Kitty destroys her camera. If you liked the first one pick this up to continue the story the next issue should explain what happened to Johnny and his parents.

The Veil #2

The story opens up with Chris Luna on the phone speaking with someone about selling a house. She then informs the person on the other end of the phone call to contact the police because she knows where a missing boy is. We then see her sitting on a bed with a ghostly looking boy in the corner standing at her. This story seems to have a familiar premise. One that reminds me of the cancelled television show Tru Calling. It seems being in her old town of Crooksville stirs up some strange memories and images. This was a very enticing read, I did not know about this comic until the other day but I will be keeping an eye out for the next issue. I would recommend this issue but I must inform you that this is for a mature audience.

Deadpool #15

With a famous Cheap Trick song as the title of this story it seems Marvel writers have no original ideas anymore, when it comes to titles. So let's begin I know this is a comic and comics are suppose to be fun. However when you are using a flintlock pistol underwater. One thing is for certain, it should not work. Already we have something I think should not be misinterpreted to the readers. Most weapons will not fire under water its science. Despite that mishap this issue for the first time was something I enjoyed. It was interesting, the jokes were not really funny but you can't have it all. For me I have said it before Deadpool has been a hard character for me to sit and read some stories are poorly written. However this was a nice change of pace. I would recommend picking this one up this week.

Ghost Riders: Heaven's on Fire #2

We open up to a desert area in the story where a man is being beat up. The man is called Pandemonium and his hands seem to have monsters on them instead that are beating him up. Once again I find it hard that this story takes a lot of titles from televisions shows. Again this title was taken from two shows.1st was the show I remember it from the Venture Bros. the episode was "Are you there G_D it's me Dean. The second was Supernatural "Are you there G_D it's me Dean Winchester. Now we have this one which is a complete copy of the two. "Are you there, Devil? It's me, Danny. I understand some things are reused but when you have a story line of save the anti-christ save the world, and then this. It becomes a little hard to tolerate. A gun with teeth which is in direct comparison with a book with teeth from a famous Hollywood movie. The story then goes on to continue where it left off with Jaine trying to help save the Anti-Christ. Cheap jokes and some other catch phrases does not make this an enjoyable read. Everything about this comic is horrible. From the strange combination of characters. This is why Ghost Rider has never had a good run. Besides the Rise of the Midnight Sons series which I happened to like. The only thing to say is thank the heavens that this is a 6 issue series. I would recommend passing this issue as well as the next ones. Unless of course you enjoy reading horrible work that is.

Justice League #3 (Cry For Justice)

This issue opens up with Supergirl standing in front of the Green Lantern and other super-heroes. She is informing them she is not a villain she is looking for justice for her father's murder. We then see a blue man and a gorilla in a plane conversing about something that went on back where they were. The scene then changes to Prometheus being interrogated by the Green Lantern. After a bomb blows up inside the building we flash back and find out part of the true intentions of Prometheus. The artwork in this issue is breathtaking to say the least this is really why I picked up this issue the story line is intriguing, but the artwork is what took me away. This is a hit or miss issue. I myself may look forward to see what happens next. But I do not think every comic reader may be interested in this issue. At least take the time to appreciate the art if you see this issue in your local shop.

The Boys #34

The Boys starts off in a desolate beach area with a run down house over looking the water at night. Stormfront shows up and blasts the van to smithereens. The next few pages are full of vulgar language and a really grotesque fight scene takes place. This is still not one for the children. The conclusion of "The Self-Preservation Society" ends with you wondering about something. If you like The Boys then this is a definite buy, if you do not then pass, & if you are someone who wanted to read them this issue would make you want to read the previous ones.

Northlanders: Sven The Immortal

The story starts with an ocean scene in Oslo Norway in 1009 A.D. Sven talks about the costal city residents and the stories that are spoken of him in the taverns. Worried about the day the Vikings finally come to find him. When they do find him some of the soldiers mock him due to his age. But when the Vikings decided to sneak up on his family and kidnap his wife, Sven the Immortal returns to show them why there are poems about him. This was the first time I have read the Northlanders since it is very difficult to get a hold of in my neck of the woods. But if you have the option to pick up this series I would recommend it. The artwork is fantastic and is well written. This is a buy for this week.
